Hello I'm Dr. Dawnyale D. Brown the wife and co‑founder of The House of Acts 2:38 Ministries, serving alongside my husband, Dr. Herman D. Brown. Through faith, partnership, and hands‑on service, we have embraced God’s call on our life and are committed to helping others and serving God’s people. I love working with Doc and seeing the transformation of the ladies and the women and children grow and change in Christ. This is a true and rewarding blessing from the Lord. 

The House Of Acts 2:38 Woman’s Ministry Home is formulated to help woman who are struggling in all areas of life get a solid foundation in Jesus Christ. This Ministry is based on Biblical principles. It is a privilege to be able to teach these ladies relapse prevention through Christ Jesus and watch the Holy Spirit transform them into new creations in Christ. Seeing restoration in family’s is a blessing there is hope for these women. I love being a part of this ministry because the founders Pastor Doc Brown & Pastor Dee are the real deal they are saved sanctified filled with the Holy Ghost and that of a Mighty Burning Fire!!! 

The House of Acts 2:38 is a wonderful addition to the community. It is delightful to see the growth in the women that live there. They get delivered from addictions and learn to love and serve the LORD. They are encouraged to live a healthy lifestyle. We do this because we love all the people and seeing them grow.

Getting the opportunity to work at The House of Acts 2:38 provides the opportunity for me to get closer to God on a deep level and the chance to fellowship with other believers who desire to live in holiness and bring others into his kingdom. I love the way God works because I wouldn't have it any other way, there are good days and there are bad days. But at the end of the day, I am grateful I get to be in a place where there are constant opportunities for physical, emotional, mental, and most of all, spiritual growth.

I love working for The House of Acts 2:38. It’s what I had always needed, but could never find in the world. I hadn't met anyone who went above and beyond going out of their way to help. When I turned 36, I had finally met them in Herman Brown and Pastor Dee Brown. Before meeting them, laying in the wake from the decisions I had made, I lost everything I had, and loved in one day. God was the only one left to turn to, and I did. I gave my life to God in May 2024. Then I met Pastor Dee and Gina, and Herman and Pastor Dee opened up their home to me. Their kindness and compassion were far greater than anything I had ever experienced before. All they wanted was for me to live a better life, and to make better choices. How can I, except some man should guide me?-Acts 8:31 and I entered into The House of Acts 2:38. I never thought I would be a part of something that extended far beyond myself. Soon after entering into the ministry, they gave me the opportunity to do more. I worked my way up to Executive Office Administer and Fundraising and Grants Coordinator. I gave my life to God, and I give back to Him today. To work and labour for Him and with Him, I wake up with purpose in my life. Now, I work to help people, whose bottoms are higher and deeper than mine. The House of Acts 2:38 for single females has been such a blessing in my life. To have compassion and empathy. Having support for transportation, to get groceries, to work, social services, or other local programs just makes life easier. Who wants you to have a relationship with the only source that can give life, and life more abundantly, Jesus The Christ. I'm so thankful I get to be a part of this ministry, and learn and grow from such kind, and loving people.

I’m the House Manager at the Women’s and Children's Ministry home. I love getting this opportunity to grow in God and train my children in all of God’s truths and promises. We all get a second chance at life, the way God intended.

I love the House of Acts 2:38 because they accept the people who are not accepted at other places and programs. They give opportunities to other people, just like me. I got to get my kids back and live the life of Christ and teach my kids to walk in Christ. I was able to do this because of the House of Acts 2:38 and the services they provide.

Hello, my name is Debbie Jansen. I am a gifted sewist and crafter. I have taught quilting at Healthy Moms for 4yrs and also at the Hope Center for 2yrs. I love to quilt and I'm really good at it. So when the House of Acts 2:38 became open, I volunteered to teach. Well that also meant that I had to find the equipment and materials to get started. I asked my quilt guild, Redwood Empire Quilt Guild, for donations. Slowly we ended up with 6 used machines that have their own issues but all manage to do the job. We got tools, thread, and 9 boxes of vintage fabric! Also $100 to buy a new cutting mat, rotary cutter and a bunch of rulers.  We haven't made a quilt yet but we will. We have finished a few projects so no one gets overwhelmed. I donate my time and my heart because Jesus gave me the skills and its my way to tithe back to a system that helped me, way back in my time of need. The House of Acts 2:38 is run by the Browns who invited me into their home for a bible study that gave me a new outlook and understanding on how to live this life with Jesus as my guide. To know His love for me, and understand that we need to share with others for He loves us all. I admire the Browns and thank them for being my teachers. And now I get to share my gifts the Lord gave me, to God's children. 

I am so thankful to be part of the House Of Acts 2:38. From the first day the doors were open, from the vision Doc had, I knew that it would be a place that I always would’ve wanted to be if there had been a place like that for me so many years ago when I was lost. A Haven where God‘s presence and God‘s teaching would be. There are so many wonderful things about the house that I don’t think I could category one to be more wonderful than the other, but I would have to say through the Humboldt County jail ministry that I do through the strength and words of Jesus Christ. I have watched women go in and succeed tremendously that women on the streets and children that society has discarded and given up on. I remember God left the 99 for one and at any hour a Sister or staff member of the house will get up for that one. Praise God hallelujah. I love each and everyone of you with the love Jesus gives me.
